See the news about the new QuantERA project QuantHEP – Quantum Computing Solutions for High-Energy Physics, led by Yasser Omar.
Our work about free-space quantum communication has been featured in this TV report: A primeira transmissão quântica de dados na televisão portuguesa.
Duarte Magano has joined the group as Ph.D. student. Welcome Duarte!
Our Group is organizing QCMC 2020 – The International Conference on Quantum Communication, Measurement and Computing.
QCMC was established in 1990 to encourage and bring together scientists and engineers working in the interdisciplinary field of quantum information science and technology.
Previously, fourteen QCMC conferences have been held. QCMC 2020, the fifteenth conference, will take place on 22-26 June 2020, in Lisbon, Portugal. Save the dates!
The project QuantHEP – Quantum Computing Solutions for High-Energy Physics, coordinated by the Physics of Information and Quantum Technologies Group, has been selected for funding in the QuantERA call 2019. Congratulations to all the members of the consortium, which includes groups from Italy, Latvia, and Portugal!
Filipe Silva, Gonçalo Frazão, and João Moutinho all won PhD scholarships from Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia (FCT), corresponding to a 100% success rate for our Group! Congratulations to all!
Our demonstration of free-space quantum communication has once again been highlighted in the media. It has now been featured in the website of the weekly newspaper Expresso: IST faz com sucesso primeiras comunicações quânticas sem-fio em Portugal.
Our research, namely the demonstration of free-space quantum communications, has been featured in IST News: Instituto de Telecomunicações faz história na área das tecnologias quânticas.
