New session of the QuantHEP Seminar – Quantum Computation and High-Energy Physics Seminar:
Congratulations to Sara Marques, who was selected for an internship at the European Space Agency (ESA), to work on the detection of asteroids with the future space-based gravitational wave detector LISA!
The victory, at the MIT Quantum Hackaton iQuHACK 2021, of Diogo Cruz, Duarte Magano, and Sagar Pratapsi, students at the Physics of Information and Quantum Technologies Group, has been featured in Exame Informática.
The victory, at the MIT Quantum Hackaton iQuHACK 2021, of Diogo Cruz, Duarte Magano, and Sagar Pratapsi, students at the Physics of Information and Quantum Technologies Group, has been featured in IST's news.
Congratulations to Diogo Cruz, Duarte Magano, and Sagar Pratapsi – PhD students of the Physics of Information and Quantum Technologies Group at Instituto de Telecomunicações, enrolled in the Physics Doctoral Programme of Instituto Superior Técnico (IST), University of Lisbon, under the supervision of Yasser Omar – who won the D-Wave Challenge at iQuHACK 2021 !
iQuHACK 2021, MIT's second annual quantum hackathon, had 219 participants (from 943 applicants) with 49 teams across 12 time zones, 29 countries, and 40 universities.
The fourth member of their team was Óscar Amaro, a Physics master student at IST. Óscar is currently a scholar of the Gulbenkian Programme New Talents in Quantum Technologies, developing research at GoLP/IPFN, under the supervision of Marija Vranic. Diogo Cruz and Duarte Magano are alumni of this extremely competitive programme, which aims at training some of the most talented students in Portugal in Quantum Information Science and Technologies.
Congratulations to all for this achievement!
Laurindo Nanque has joined the Group as a Visiting Researcher and Scholar of Gulbenkian Programme for Scientific Visits for Academics from Portuguese-speaking African Countries. Welcome Laurindo!
